A.R. Rahman Live Concert Nagpur


If it’s Music….its Melody. If it’s A.R.Rahman…its Electrifying & when these two Kings are together …it’s become pure Magic.
                  The Magician A.R.Rahman spread his magic of music infront of 60,000 people first time, in Nagpur. Come May 15 and the Nagpurians will have a lifetime opportunity to witness Oscar and double Grammy award winner A.R. Rahman in a live concert. So Nagpurians get ready for his Live Concert at 15 May, 2011…University Campus, Near University guest house, Ambazari Road, Nagpur.
                   An NGO, Bodhi Foundation, is the organizer of this Live Concert …A.R.Rahman performs first time in India after winning the prestigious Oscars, perform  with his big troupe of over 100 artists and technicians.
                  A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence. This is the way which A.R.Rahman prefers for his music & fills beat of melodious music in our Life. A.R.Rahman says-“Music is a gift from God and every note should be blessed. Otherwise music becomes noise if it is not blessed. I am influenced by Sufism, which is also connected with music. Before composing I pray and beg to God to give me something. I believe every song should have a pure soul in it to reach people."

WORLD's TIGER CAPITAL - NAGPUR


Nagpur is all set to became World's Tiger Capital and gateway to the tiger land as Maharashtra and Gujarat have the highest tiger population (in the country). A tour organized by the Maharashtra government , Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavhan visited the state & said “States like Gujarat and Kerala are already promoting their assets… in order to stay in competition we will now promote what we have in abundance” As per the 2010 census Nagpur is the highest scorer in the country with total Tiger population of 148. As a state Maharashtra holds highest share of population in the country which has rise from 103 to 169 in last four years.      

 
       
         The city has three Tiger Reserves (Tadoba, Melghat,Pench) and more than five sanctuaries (Sahadyri,Sindhudurg, Nagjira,Navegaon and Bor)  as per "A K Khetrapal", Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Wildlife).
                        As per 2010 sensus  Population of Tigers at Tadoba is 69 at Melghat its 35, Sahadyri -- Sindhudurg has 21 tigers, Nagjira-Navegaon -- 20 tigers and Bor -- 12 tigers.
Activities of the Maharashtra government have begun to gain more visitors and have gears up to promote the state on India’s tourist map.
                  The painting of the Maharajbagh Zoo wall was another activity that we undertook as part of an awareness drive. Though the intention was only to express the demand, it became a canvas for everything related to wildlife — protecting the tiger and saving our forests.

Dam & Lake

Wadgaon Dam :
                       An interesting place for a day’s outing in summer. It is near to Wadgaon.This Dam is about 45km from Nagpur off Chandrapur Road. Nearby is a huge statue of Sant Dhyaneshwar. Vena Dam is one of the most visited & recently used for generating electricity. The water requirements for the power plant have been allocated from Wadgaon Dam on the Vena River in the Nagpur District. This is a main sub river of Wardha river.


Gandhi Sagar Lake or Shukrawari Talao



                      Gandhi Sagar Lake is located right at the centre of Nagpur. It is also known as Shukrawari Talao & Jumma Talab Talao’ during the Bhonsla and British periods when the first Raghuji declared Nagpur as the capital of his domain in 1742. Metropolitan between mahal and cotton market localities and also infront of Raman Science Centre. This is very old lake since from 275 years. The lake looks more attractive in the night when its surrounding area is in,, by yellow mercury light. There is also a small garden there.

Ambazari lake :


 
                              The beautiful Ambazari Lake is one of the premier tourist attractions of Nagpur. The beautifully landscaped gardens that abut the lake is spread across 20 acres of land and is packed with funfilled activities for all ages and inclinations. Put on your walking shoes and take a natural walk on the outstanding walking trails that line the park. The lakefront is a perfect spot for picnics.

Famous Temple In Nagpur

Ganpati Mandir (Tekadi) : This temple is famous and ancient temple of Ganesha.It is also called "Tekadicha Ganpati"by Nagpurians.This Mandir have its own importance because it is very old & few years ago the idol of Ganpati was identified below the Shami Tree,then the contemprory rulers reestabilished this ancient idol and pay the honour and respect to the daity cansidesing it to be the diety of the town.
             Nagpurians daily attend its darshan.On Chaturthi of every calender month and specially in January Tilchaturhi a big congrigation of pilgrims assambled here.

Hanuman Mandir (Telankhedi) : This is one of the famous Temple of Nagpur,devoted to main deity Lord Hanuman is located in the southern slope of seminari hills,over looking Telankhedi garden and western nagpur.Every Tuesday and Saturday large no of Hanuman Bhakts attends the darshan.

  A series of beautiful life size marble devoted to lord Ganesha,lord Shiva,Devi Durga,Lord Rama,Satoshi Mata,Devi Gayatri,Lord Vishnu & more.


Sai Mandir : This Mandir located in Vivekanand Nagar Facing Wardha Road,which is before Ringroad is devoted to Shri Sai Baba of shirdi.On Thursday SaiBaba Bhakts attend its darshan & Maha Aarti of Sai Baba.
